mdm Zinc 3 startup crash issue & solution

mdm Zinc 3 (tested on newest trial release) will crash with uncaught exception on startup when trying to start it on a system without Flash Player installed.

To fix this issue, simply install recent Flash Player from Adobe website and restart mdm Zinc 3. I haven't found this information anywhere on the net, I hope this'll get crawled and will help someone.

If anyone else was unhappy with font-size change on newsfeed on fbk, there is a simple way on how to "change it back"...

This guide is Safari5 only, there are certainly ways to achieve it on FF and Chrome, but I'm not interested in them.

1) Download and install Custom CSS extension: http://code.grid.in.th/

2) Click on "A" icon in toolbar after installing and create new rule with parameters:

Enabled Checked

Name: [whatever]

Domains: Includes: http://*.facebook.com/*

Styles: .uiStream .uiStreamMessage {font-size: 13px !important}

And click "Save"...

And that should do the trick.

Typický kravaťák, sa vezie v autobuse mhd. Slušivý oblek, kufrík pri nohách, v rukách noviny. Na jednej zo zastávok nastúpi mladý, sotva dospelý pankáč, drsné číro a čierna koža. Sadne si oproti kravaťákovi, keď zrazu sa ozve spredu klasické "Kontrola cestovných lístkov". Mladý sa zasmeje, kravaťák nepohne brvou. Revízor príde až ku nim a pýta si od pankáča lístok. "Choď do pičééé!!!", zareve mu s úsmevom a viac už sa revízorovi nevenuje. Revízor zneistie, nevie čo robiť, tak pozrie na kravaťáka a tiež zvýši tón: "Pane, nepočuli ste, váš cestovný lístok!". Kravaťák najskôr pomaly dočíta odstavec, potom konečne opúšťa svoju neprítomnú pózu, pomaly zloží noviny, zdvihne hlavu k revízorovi a veľmi distingvovane odpovedá: "Prepáčte, ale mal som pocit, že sa tu prítomný mladý pán už vyjadril dostatočne zreteľne!"

And finally, we have this story from Stephen, whose client wanted to make sure that his paper forms stayed paper.

I work for a company that provides print and mail services — i.e. creating paper copies of user-supplied documents and mailing them to user-supplied addresses — to all sorts of businesses. When we get a new account, one of the final stages to our set-up process is new client training, where we show them how to use our website and manage the details of their account.
I recently was training a new client and, when we got to the "Custom Messages" section of our site, where clients can create text that will appear in specific spots on the documents that we print. As the client typed in the contact details for their company, the website address automatically turned into a link. Then the client paused for a second.
"I have just one thing that makes me uneasy about this whole thing," he said, "when we mail these documents to our customers, I don't want them to be able to click on that link to go to our site."
Perplexed, I responded, "well these documents are printed out... on paper... and mailed to your customers. So... they... uh—"
"Yeah," he jumped in, "but they're still links. Won't they be able to click them?"
I nervously chuckled, waiting for him to laugh back. But he was serious. "Don't worry," I explained, "when we print this on the paper we make sure to disable the link."
"Good," he said, "I think our customers would be too clueless to realize what happened."

As TUN/TAP KEXTs are 32-bit only (as of 3.0b18/576), you will need a proper 64-bit/Universal KEXT to use TunnelBlick with K64 enabled Snow Leopard.

Here is how to:

http://marianmi.comp.nus.edu.sg/2009/08/tuntap-universal-driver.php -> tuntap.10.6.tar.gz
extract the gz archive (e.g. by double-click on it in Finder)
close TunnelBlick (either by kill, if old version or by Quit from context menu)
assuming, the archive was extracted in ~/Downloads:
1. open Terminal.app (e.g. using Spotlight / Quicksilver)
2. cd ~/Downloads/tuntap.10.6
3. cp *.kext /Applications/Tunnelblick.app/Contents/Resources (and overwrite both kexts)
4. cd /Applications/Tunnelblick.app/Contents/Resources
5. sudo chown -R root:wheel tap.kext/
6. sudo chown -R root:wheel tun.kext/
7. sudo kextutil -t *.kext (should not display anything as there should not be any errors; or will display permission errors if previous commands are not executed properly)
8. close Terminal.app
start TunnelBlick again and try VPN connection, should be working

Dobry den,

chcel by som sa spytat, ci je mozne podat podnet na vykonanie kontroly aj pomocou e-mailu. Ak ano, prikladam text; ak nie, poslem Vam tuto informaciu aj pisomne.

Pocas festivalu Pohoda 2009 som totiz bol ubytovany v penzione pri Trencine (Penzion IN Zamarovce) a mal som zarezervovanu izbu vopred, orientujuc sa podla cien uvedenych v cenniku na internetovej stranke.

Nasledne som poslal e-mail so ziadostou o potvrdenie rezervacie, kde som uviedol okrem ineho aj cenu. Na e-mail neprisla odpoved, ani zamietava s korekciou ceny.

Nasledne (AZ) pri plateni sme sa dozvedeli, ze plati "specialna festivalova cena", ktora je defacto viac ako o 100% vyssia ako ta cennikova, takze za ubytovanie v *** penzione sme neplatili 23.99EUR/os/noc, ale 49.79EUR/os/noc (co znamena z cca 48EUR/izbu/noc sme platili neuveritelnych skoro 100EUR/izbu/noc), co je o 40EUR viac, ako by sme zaplatili za neporovnatelne lepsie ubytovanie napriklad v centre Trencina v Hoteli Tatra****. Dokopy sme teda platili za dve noci v tomto penzione 199.16EUR.

Ked sme sa na cenu stazovali, pravdepodobne mierne podgurazena prevadzkarka (majitelka?) nam (z mojho pohladu velmi drzo) oznamila, ze ako novinar by som predsa mal vediet si informacie overovat a nasledne sa s nami prestala bavit a sla si sadnut k hostom a pofajcievat. Recepcna nam uz len so sklonenou hlavou (hanbiac sa?) podala terminal a poziadala o zadanie PIN kodu.

Kedze nam uz spominana prevadzkarka oznamila, ze tieto informacie sme si mohli najst na webe (i ked verim a som presvedceny, ze taketo nieco sa clovek musi dozvediet uz pocas check-in-u na hotel), spravil som si okamzite plnu kopiu ich webovych stranok a taktiez som si aj vytlacil ich stranky do PDF formatu, z ktoreho cennik prikladam (v pripade potreby viem dodat aj ostatne podstranky, ale predpokladam, ze tato informacia by mala byt umiestnena hlavne v cenniku).

Chcel by som vas dalej upozornit, ze v case, ked som na tie stranky pristupoval som objavil, ze sa na nich nachadza virus, ktory sa bude snazit infikovat vas pocitac (ja som sa tomu ako IT clovek vedel vyhnut, takze sa mi podarilo kopiu stranok ziskat bez problemov).

V prilohach prikladam ucet aj s potvrdenim o platbe kartou a PDF dokument s cennikom zo spominanej webovej stranky.

Prosim dajte vediet, ci je mozne s tym nieco spravit,

V principe uz som sa asi rozlucil s predmetnymi 100EUR, ale mam pocit, ze by bolo potrebne takemuto konaniu do buducnosti zamedzit.

Yesterday in Bratislava was a bit of a nightmare to be honest. The venue was awful, the weather was awful, and the local stage hadn't been built to the band's specifications resulting in a stressed out atmosphere the whole day and all sorts of technical problems.

A leaky "roof" on the side of the stage gave way to the massive amounts of water, and soaked a mixer, killed about 10 channels of audio, and left show opener MOTOR on stage playing with no audio on or off stage for a bit. Depeche Mode had to ditch the video sphere because the stage that had been provided wouldn't hold the weight of the entire rig.

But it was a good show - the crowd was on fire despite being soaked!! Absolutely mental.
